Rainy day on Wilshire. Our 14th mark had a unique way of holding his umbrella. It was held really high up. Perhaps he was blocking the rain for an imaginary little friend.
We had a great turnout today! I think there was about a dozen of us. It was really cool to meet new people and sketch. This week's mark was having Chipotle for lunch (according to his brown bag) Here's my take on him.
I'm part of a weekly sketch group that goes out and sketches during lunch. At the end of the session, we pick a mark. We all have to do a sketch of that same person from memory once we get back to the office.
My buddies and I are trying to do drawings based on a word or phrase. Our goal is to do three of these a week. Our first challenge was the phrase "How About Today?"
Wow, I cant believe there's been 30 sketchcrawls already. We met up at The Natural Hisory Museum in Los Angeles. There was a big turn out and it was really fun!!! Here are some of my doodles.
Happy New Year!!! It's been way too long since I've posted. Went to the drawing club last Thursday. The theme was "True Grit" and the model we had was awesome!!! Here are some doodles from the session. I think I need bigger paper... all my drawings are cropped. I improvised on a few and just drew the missing feet on a separate piece of paper.
It's been a long time since I've been to Redondo Beach and not much has changed. Sketchcrawl #27 was held there and it was a great location. It was super cold and windy, but still lots of fun!!! Here are some doodles I did with my frozen fingers.
I made this animated slideshow for my buddy's wedding. He was just married this weekend and I had the honor of being his best man. Drawn in Storyboard Pro and edited with iMovie. Hope you like it.
Had a great time this weekend at Sketch Crawl #24. We met up at the Grand Central Market in downtown Los Angeles. It was great to see everyone again and meet new crawlers. Looking forward to the next one!!! Here are some of my doodles from the session.
I've been working on some vinyl decal designs for my robot friend Otto over at decal robot. Here are a couple of NINJA decals designs I did. If you get one, be sure to email me a photo of where you place it, so I can share it on my NINJA sightings photostream.
Above is a little sketch I did on a post-it note. I think this the first time I've used pink, but we had a lot of pink post-its at work (not as popular as yellow). Below is from a figure drawing session we have every other week at work. I wish we had it more often. I liked the model's pose. I was imagining her touching water.
Happy New Year!!! 1st entry for 2009. I participated in the 21st World Wide SketchCrawl. We met up at the Americana in Glendale. It was great weather for sketching and the turn out was pretty good. Here are some of my drawings from the session.
Just got back from APE. It was my first time doing a convention and I had a blast. San Francisco is a really cool place. Chris & I shared a table and next to us were Andy, Liz & Alex. I had my new sketchbook for sale, along with some prints & t-shirts. Be sure to check out my etsy shop. www.decalrobot.com
Yay. Just received my postcards from overnightprints.com. I am very happy with the quality. Especially the spot UV treatment. I'll be using these as promos when I go to APE this year.
Yay its Friday!!! I had a really good chicken burger. Raul had the same thing, but with a special hot sauce concoction. Dom had a pizza, which probably wasn't that good for his cold.
